I had a wonderful time in Singapore last summer. The CHIJ girls and my host family were all very generous and kind to me. All the great memories I had with them are something that I will not forget.
Studying in CHIJ gave me another perspective to learning. CHIJ girls, like SPCC students, are very diligent and motivated to learn. The learning atmosphere is very supportive and fun, which is conducive to learning.
Singapore is a multi-cultural and dynamic metropolitan, nonetheless, it is a very well-preserved city. Amid the skyscrapers, greenery and well-conserved historical buildings can be found. It is relaxing and peaceful, yet full of life at the same time. I have learnt so much from this exchange, be it academic studies, cultural awareness or social skills. I hope this exchange programme can continue to benefit more students in the future.

It is my first time staying in a host family and I truly enjoyed my stay there. My host family took me to many unique local spots and introduced to me a splendid array of local food. Joining them in their weekend activities have helped me know more about their lifestyle and enriched me with a more in-depth experience of Singapore.
Singapore is a truly culturally diverse country. Almost every part of Singapore integrates different cultures together. In our tour to Little India, we had a taste of Indian heritage. By visiting the CHIJMES, we learnt more about Singapore under the British rule. Through trying out Peranakan cuisine, I got to know more about Malaysian and Chinese integration in Singapore.
From being strangers to becoming great friends with the CHIJ students, from being a complete foreigner to becoming accustomed to the Singaporean culture, my two weeks in Singapore has really been a worthwhile experience, one that I would always treasure.

The exchange trip was very enriching and rewarding. It has broadened my horizons through the immense diversity within the exchange programme. I can still vividly picture the harmonious atmosphere at the Racial Harmony Day, when students of different nationalities were dressed in traditional costumes to support multiculturalism. I was very impressed by how supportive the schools were to this meaningful event. It helps to arouse awareness among the students and the community when racial discrimination was almost everywhere. Through meeting new friends of different nationalities, I have also developed good personal and social skills. My host family was very hospitable. They toured with me in Singapore and we tried many local elicacies. I was more than happy to be involved in the exchange programme because of the everlasting friendships that I made, and lessons I learnt that could not be found in textbooks. I just can’t wait to see my friends again in November!

The lifestyle in Singapore is quite different from that in Hong Kong. Yet my host family was very welcoming to me and spared no effort to make me feel as comfortable as possible. I was also brought to try various cuisines of Singapore so as to explore its culture. I really enjoyed my time spent with my host family.
Having lessons with CHIJ students is absolutely fun. They always wore such delightful smiles on their faces that drove all my worries away. I was also immensely impressed by their passion in learning and harmonious atmosphere. Unlike common Hong Kong students who quietly listen to the teacher, the CHIJ girls actively raised questions and participated well in class activities. The thing I adore most is that they have fun while learning.
